The Buyer
For the buyer, love is osme kind of a commercial trade, not so different from what makes Divisoria so noisy: “I will give you what you want, but give me what i need.”
Lavishness is the Buyer’s mark: from the Swiss chocolates, to flashy jewelry, from designer clothes to fancy restaurants. Giving is only one side of him. Showing off is another. He often displays his flashy cars, and casually mentions his new model of a celphone, and delights in all that subtle “I have money” talk.
The buyer is perfect for the Sellers: girls who are willing to give anything just to hit a ride to the “good” life. Even if he has good intentions, the Buyer is likely to offend nice girls out tehre who idea of romance is least connected with grand and fabulous gifts and gimmicks.
The Joker
No, not Batman’s criminal enemy. The joker is one funny guy with load of gags and one-liners. when it comes to humor, he’s a natural. He could jest his way to a woman’s heart and fill romance with laughter. Laughter is said to lighten up all human burdens, brighten the world, and even brings good health. No wonder the Joker is often a successful suitor.
But there can be problems. The JOker may turn out to be a good-for-nothing bum who’s got nothing to show except his jokes. Humor is fine, but sometimes, we all need cash.
The Silent Operator
This guys does not make it obvious that he is courting the girl. In fact none of his friends know that he’s in the middle of the chase. The Silent Operator never confirms his feelings or denies his courtship to the girl. He’s virtually invisible and keeps quiet. The telephone is the Silent Operator’s most useful tool. He is rarely or never sen in the company of the girl, but he’s actually busy burning the line to her. For the Silent Operator, it is not the quantity, but rather the quality of time spent that really matters.
There are many advantages to being a Silent Operator. For one, his rivals would not be alarmed. Secondly, if he gets rejected, not many would know.
To be continue…
