August 2008 Summary

It was a fine month except for the incoveniences of peace and safety in this part of the globe which enabled me to be almost house arrest for 3 week-ends.  But even then, we still managed to go outing to the Tinago Falls inspite the red alert in the city. The place was conducive for a hideout for bad elements but thank God, there was none there.  Except that my two cousins saw 2 ghosts – an old man and a lady.  Well, it’s them who saw it.  Not me.  But when I heard the story, i had goosebumpbs that signals me that the place is really full of those not so supernatural beings.

Another thing to note in for this month is the come back of the lost love. hahaha.  Not really lost love but after being silent for more than 3 months he is back though tired and sort of confused, at least he is back.  So it was roller coaster ride for my feelings this month.  It’s like am confused too so that is why i said to myself — whatever happens, i will take a break muna from this thing called love.  Butit is good to note that last year this month even this day, we were together in Bangkok, me nursing a sick him and when he is well we were out and spatting irritating words at each other. lol!  It was sort of a nightmarish experience but i can still smile if i recall of it now.

Ramadan is back again!  I just can’t believe how time flies.  It’s Ramadan beginning tomorrow and will be a fasting feast for our Islam brothers and sisters for the whole month.  Tomorrow is declared local holiday in this part of the country, i dunno if it was annouced as national holiday.  It’s now 3 Mondays in a row that is officially non working holiday.

And this month? the kiddos here at home are growing up quick.  Even my myself have grown in a way. hehehe.  The kiddy cat is now bouncing toddler kitty and my lil girl is now a biggy “little” girl.

Week-end Game

Sometimes week-ends are just so boring.  Although for me i love week-ends because it’s time for long sleep and movie marathon.  Others love it because they can be online 24 hours as the next day they are off so they can sleep during day time.  One of the things that my cousins is filling his time online is checking on the right online casinos to play on.  He is very familiar of several good places to play and win so he dragged his cousin into it so they always play online casinos on week-ends.

I think online casinos are fun but it’s also worth checking casinos that are not online.  I want to see actual play so that if i will be brave enough to play online casino then i would be more confident.  My cousin said, that playing online is just like playing at the real place.  Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.  He is familiar which places give out double bonuses if you play with them.  But my aunt, his mom, is warning me that casinos are addicting. hmmmm i really don’t have plans to be addicted to that.  I just wanna see and know how to play the basics.

My entry yesterday is entitled “Veiled Lady” because am not sure if you can see what i see. but in general the falls looks like a white veil.

That falls is called Tinago Falls (Hidden Falls) in Iligan City, one of the industrial towns in the Southern Philippines. This falls is one of the most visited falls within the city. But because of the recent trouble, no much dared to spend time there.

Last Monday, we just get so bored we decided to go. There were no bad people around the area nor untoward incidents that happened. Because of the very steep trail I told my mom not to go because for sure she will have a hard time.

Attitude = Attitude

Being positive is not only important. It is crucial. It allows us to maintain equillibrium and regain control of our life. So everyone wants to reach a higher altitude, but how. some suggested the following tips on how to achieve high positivism:

1. WATCH YOUR WORDS. Get rid of unenthusiastic thought patterns and speech habits.

2. DO NOT WORRY SO MUCH. Unwarranted worrying can cause you to turn out to be bitterly negative and unwilling to work through things.

3. HOPE FOR THE BEST. Be geared up to correct things that go wrong, but not let fear of failure paralyze you.

4. FOCUS ON THE GOOD. Do not allow bad things to influence you.

5. STAY IN CONTROL. Use affirmations to amplify your self-esteem and postive vigor.

6. BE UPBEAT! Channel your energy to positive pursuits.

7. HELP OTHERS. Being a mentor enables you to pass along the positive lessons you’ve learned.

8. TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME. Focus on the big picture and accept that the future will improve.

9. TRUST YOUR JUDGMENT. Appraise your options, make an executive decision and fasten to it.

10. HAVE FAITH IN GOD! It allows you to soar high and reach the higher altitude.

Knowledge Adventure

I just attended a parents’ meeting this lunch time at my daughter’s school.  Many parents wondered why were called at an off time when most meetings happen during week-days but this one is very important so I went.  The meeting was about casting vote to agree for a yearly project in lieu of a monthly or gading project.  The one time project for this year for the fifth grade and also for the sixth grade is a TV and a DVD player.  Parents were enlightened on why these gadgets are important or let us say should be part of a learning facilities these days.  So everyone agreed to pay the project fee of to raise the amount of almost 16 thousand for a 29 inches TV and a DVD player.

Frankly speaking, am one of the Filipinos that is not yet very familiar with every nook and crooks of all the places in the Philippines.
