Blessed and Happy

20 05 2008

Financially. I don’t care if it is just tonight but yeah, am so blessed financially and am so happy about it because am gonna pay all my pending bills. This morning i was already feeling blue upon seeing my account balance in my EON card. My paypal amount has not yet been transferred and when i checked it later this evening, around 6:30 i think, it was already there. I was shaking with happiness. My heart was full of happiness that I could burst. I right away called my daughter to come and meet me at the schoolgate because we are going to the city. I was thinking it was already late but I want my house rent be paid tonight so that I can breath freely. While waiting for my daughter, I quickly logged at my YM to buzz Mitch and Kerslyn to share the news. I was really bubbling with happiness. Kerslyn was there right away but Mitch was out from her desk so she replied late but it was ok. I owe both of them a lot of thanks.

When Dimple came, we right away went to the city to Union Bank. She saw me withdrawing the money and am sure in her mind she thought I have a lot of money. LOL! Then she said, “is this the one you are waiting for? the one u said your job on line?” I replied, Yes. Then she said, “where are we going then?” I said, “just follow me.” :D I treated her at a Pizza place. I felt a bit guilty coz it’s been a long time since the last time I treated her. That was April yet and the whole summer months she is just at home with nothing to do and no allowance even. Hmmm allowance is just for schooling guys so she never ask for money this summer. She has to understand. No nice treats for so long because her mommy was scraping every penny to save to pay bills. Haiii buhay mag-isa kasi o…..While she was eating, and i was timidly eating coz i feel like puking due to too much excitement that the food makes me sick – I then divided the money for the house rent/ 3months telephone bill/ the 500 for L/ my offering/ 1000 i borrowed from mom. And then I thought of buying some rice. AFter eating, off we went to the market and i bought some ten kilos rice, 2 kilos of fishes and then some vegetables and we went home with a take-home small size vege pizza for my mom. Ohhh am so happy even though where my money went is not really what I dream of. I was planning all along that am going to purchase my own Laptop with my first earnings online. And then i mentioned to Dimple too that if i don’t have the house rent to pay – am gonna buy a new celphone. But even though my personal wants is not materialized, the peace of mind am having now that i paid many of my bills makes me so happy and feel so blessed.

Anyone reading this rant might think that my happiness sounds cheap – well, this is just me. I am the kind of person who does not like to have utang if possible. :) I wanna live a simple life so that walang utang. But i know that sometimes we can’t help to loan or borrow money. We jst ran short of cash at times in times of need. :)

Medical Careers

20 05 2008

It can’t be denied that nowadays many young people wanted to be successful in medical careers but they seem not yet sure on what to enroll when they go to college.  They are still not sure on what medical trainings they will decide on.  These days, there is an available medical training list that leads to sonography schools, ultrasound schools and or ultrasound technician.  Learning skills like what i’ve mentioned wll never ran out of jobs specially in the US today.  So why not encourage your young relatives for this or anyone who is still confused on what to enroll after graduation in highschool.

Islamic Clothing

20 05 2008

Not long back my sister called up to inform me that she is coming home soon from Saudi Arabia and she asked what would I like her to bring for me. I have so many things in my mind that is originally from there. So I replied, anything from the Desert Store if not then just bring me your old Abaya or any of Islamic clothing.. hahhaah. She then told me to send her the pictures of what I wanna let her buy. And look what I want her to bring for me – actually just anything of the following:

I sent her these pictures and told her of my size. If she can’tbuy that all then at least she will pick me one of those Caftan/tunic blouses or those Jilbab and Jelbab. She laugh at me why I would like these types of clothes, I said, who knows a true hearted middle eastern guy will marry me and of course I need to be in a presentable cloth to be instroduced to his family. Then sister said my wishes sound impossible. I then told her, of course I can dream no matter if it comes true or not. The important thing is that I dreamed for it. Right?

So incase am gonna attend an Arabian wedding if not my own wedding then I want it to be in this color and style:

Ain’t it dainty? I really love that in all that was shown at the Desert Store. And my sister likes it, too.

Not only caftan/kaftan for women are available at Desert Store but also elegant Formal Dress/Gown thta is beautifully embroidered and can be felt comfortable to the touch because it is made of cloth that will make the wearer feeling so comfy and full of freedom. Not only women’s clothes and kid’s close but also clothes for men and also stuff that is worth giving away as a keepsake from the Arabian Desert.

I really have this dream at the back of my mind that one day am gonna be married to someone from out there or maybe anyone nearer to that description – the tall, dark, and handsome guy. :) And by the way, these type of clothes or what you call Islamic Clothing is not only for Islamic women but women of any decent that wanted to feel elegant in long dresses.

Kenny G and Julia Roberts

20 05 2008

The first time their names stuck in my brain was when i saw the movie Dying Young. I can remember crying watching that movie. It is a story of Julia taking care of a young man dying of leukemia. It was a romantic movie so it was heartbreaking. There’s the reason to cry. hmmm.

I instantly become one of Julia Robert’s fan because i think she is very beautiful. I love her dashing smiles and the way she speaks in her roles – oh i just love it. She does not have that boring look. I love her in long curly or wavy hair but really i love her in whatever hair style she’s having.

Kenny G’s playing the theme in a sax. Since then I can’t take him off my mind with that music. For a long time, I don’t get bored listening to that movie theme not until i heard of Silhouette. I can remember I often borrowed his album Breathless, The Moment and later I was able to pick my own copy of Paradise.

Guess what? Dying Young is another old movie (next to While you Were Sleeping) that I’d like to hold a copy of my own.

In Tattered Clothes?

20 05 2008

Oh i should have blog about this last Friday evening but i guess i forgot.  But the thought of it kept coming back to me and even this morning i mentioned it at home so i better blog about it now.

Last Friday afternoon, after work, my friend and I decided to go out to the city to go around a bit and then later I will buy some rice for the week-end.  Rice crises in the Philippines these days is on www news so it is not a secret.  And really, it is not a joke especially for us people down here in the South.  The price has gone up to 38 almost 40 pesos per kilo but we have the option of buying 20 pesos a kilo if you buy the rice that the government provided.  But this NFA is only for those who take time to queu with the long line of people to be able to get a number and you will then be able to purchase 2 kilos of that NFA rice at a very low price.  For many weeks now, my ever loving mom always do these lines.  From morning to afternoon and she usually arrives home in the afternoon with 6 kilos.  My heart really goes out to her.  Wish i could do it on my own – doing the line and not work but am sure it would be more hard if i will  be the one to do the line. So last Friday, my friend and I said to some friends we are going to queu in line for an NFA rice. Then guess what they replied?

“You will never be given even a number.  With your kind of looks, they never will believe you can’t afford a 38 per kilo of rice. “  We just laugh and laugh listening to them.  Then another one added, “if you are really serious to go in queu – go in tattered clothes, don’t comb your hair, dirty your face, and in short – make yourself look “very” poor.”  Lelan and I really just laugh about it but the impact of those advices was instilled into my brain.

My point is that – everyone is in crises then how come it is not fair for everyone to avail the low priced rice?  Everybody eats and everybody is in short of rice supply.  So why only the the poorest of poors (that’s what they think) are given the priority?  I just wonder what would really happen if only the poorest of poors are alive in this country and all the better off died because they were not able to eat.  Well am not rich but i promise you am not gonna die even i don’t eat rice for 1 month. LOL! As long as we have sweet camote or boiled bananas but as of now – the above mentioned fruits can’t be seen in our pantry. :D

Ohhh in tattered clothes fashion?  Maybe I will try one day not for me to be able to eat rice but to help mom. :)

ONe wish for today – the rice crises will be over. :)
