Personal Hopes and Goals for 2008

31 12 2007

I can still vividly remember that I make new year resolutions for two years while I was in high school. But when I did not faithfully followed it or changed myself, I stopped on the 3rd year. One of the most important resolution that I really wanted to do that time was TO STOP READING NOVELS. According to my teachers, reading these novels can influence me to do bad at a young age. :D But two weeks just after I make that resolution, I break it because there are novels of friends that are ready for borrowing. Hahaha! We girls in the dormitory read these novels secretly or else it will be confiscated by the Dean or teachers and we will be given demerits. That was high school life. In college, I guess there were too many of us to be checked and to be demeritted just for that.

This year instead of making resolutions I would just put into writing some simple and which I think would be attainable goals for the year 2008:

  • - That I thought of having a new look (cut my hair).

  • - Lost at least 10 pounds for the first 6 months.

  • - Go to sleep 10:30 pm the most even when am not sleepy. (this is part of the weight loss process and I know this is gonna be hard because most of the time I chat at night and do late blogging, too. And now I have to change. Wahhhhhhhhh)

  • - Pay up my 10k debt before January ends

  • - Finish up all the pre requisite subjects this year so that I can apply for internship in June 2009.

  • - Pay up Dimple’s school fees before March ends.

  • - Live one day at a time realistically to avoid stress
  • - Seriously comply my problogging opportunities so that they kept coming.

Wish me luck guys that I may faithfully work up to attain all these goals.

How about you – do you have yours, too?

Happy New Year!

Healthy Foods Versus Unhealthy Foods Prices

30 12 2007

I wonder why here in the Philppines, healthfy foods cost so much that even though everyone wants to buy it for health purposes, they can’t because it cost too much.  But if you check the prices of Unhealthy foods like junkfoods, carbonated drinks, fatty meats — they are so affordable that everyone can buy them.  Result:  Many  early child lifestyle illnesses, early development of diabetes.

Ultimate result >>> early deaths!

But there are many countries in Asia where healthy foods are still so affordable.  Why here so expensive?

I thought of this early this afternoon because I was asking my mom if we have fruits.  There was none.  The reason? coz they cost too much!

Well, next time, if the fruit vendors come, I will ask them if it is ok if I can exchange their fruits with clothes and if it ok — then will give away all that starts to get too small on me now.

Bandari Music

28 12 2007

If you have time to visit my site, Dancing in Midlife Tune, you will be entertained by a Bandari Music called Heavens Gate the IWebmusic. There are many music options to pick at Iweb but I clicked on Bandari because I know one time, I listened to one whole album, it really relaxed me.

Now, I checked on Bandari’s background and here is what i found. The Bandari music I listened to where from China and they are not related to that Iranian Bandari.  But whatever the source or the originality of it, the China Bandari music really sounds relaxing, uplifting, and inspiring.  I picked 4 CD’s (Mist, ONe day in Spring, LUnar in Forest, and Breezy Valley).  I carried them for arrival gift purposes  and I failed to leave a copy for me. hehehehe

Good for now, I discovered I can hear some of the music on the net and I thought of sharing the sound with everyone if you come by this BLOG.

That’s to my Chinese friends – students, colleagues, adoptive aunts & uncles, and friends.  I really haven’t forgotten each one of you.  Three Christmases have gone and yet I can’t forget all those Christmas moments in the two cities I worked at in the beautiful country, P.R. China.

I know not all of you celebrates Christmas but I each of you — a very happy Christmas.  May love and peace reigns at your home everyday of the coming year.

I miss all of you.  I miss the cold weather for this season.  Guess am made for a country like yours. Hehehe.  Everytime I feel the hot weather of my country, it always made me long to be there.

To all of you who sent me greetings thru my email — thank you, too!  I may have forgotten your real names but your faces are etched in my memory – so am sure the next time we meet, I will surely call your name to say — Ni hao!

I had the Laziest Christmas Day Ever!

26 12 2007

Well, one thing that made me so lazy on Christmas day this year was the fact that on the 24th, I was up hours before midnight until 3 AM in the morning.  Iwas not busy.  I was busy doing nothing.  I was bothered with so many things that sleep did not come, so I came online and tried to surf the net. At past 3 I decided to go to bed and woke up at 9 yesterday.

I fried the left over rice, had  mom made some corn coffee and we had our breakfast – fried rice, fried dried fish, and boiled okra.

Then after  doing some housework, I watched movies (korean) and then sleep.  The nigt before, I also watched a Korean Christmas movie.  It was nice and sad love story.   Yesterday afternoon, Millionaire, was also entertaining.  Dimple did not enjoy it much because I watched it with Korean audio and Chinese subtitles.  I tried to change the subtitles to Englsh but there was no option for it.  Anyway, action speaks louder than words, so I never had the hard time understanding the whole movie.  I agree that LOVE is a universal language — so the more I did not have a hard time watching and understanding the whole movie.

Last night, around 6 pm, dimple and I went to the city — the city was crowdless, and it was raining.  We were just there for around 3 minutes and came back home.  After dinner, I continued watching NET 2.0 and when it was done, my eyes won’t open up anymore for the next movie.  I was already asleep from 8 pm until this morning.

When I woke up this morning, I said to myself, I should blog about my lazy Christas ever! hahahaha
