Place of Angels? – PahtPhong, Bangkok

10 09 2007

They said, when you come to Bangkok and has not gone to this place – you really haven’t been to Bangkok at all.  They said, it is the place where you can see the “angels.”  And yea, last night, we have seen the angels but in my opinion, i’ve seen the fallen angels.

I stayed at the place where Maricar was staying and thanks to the big hearts of C & S.  Since Friday evening, i’ve been home hopping. I didn’t feel much uncomfortable because I was so happy to be with friends and talk with friends I haven’t seen for a long time at same time making new friends.  Friday night, I stayed at Dan’s place, Saturday night, at Ludy’s place, and last night at Maricar’s place.

After dinner, we went out for an ice cream treat at the Swensen in Big C just nearby their home and then we proceeded to Paht Phong to see the place – just mainly to satisfy our curiousity of what’s in there.  There were a lot of stuff to be bought at a very high price but when you try to haggle, you can pick it up for a low price.  Locals and foreigns alike were abound for shopping or just trying to be familiar of the place.  The place is also sorrounded by bars where you can sit and maybe listen to music while watching people come and go and taxis passing by.

While C went to park his car at the hotel’s ground, we (smiley, marix, roxanne, showers, bebe, and me) went into the crowd ahead.  Most of us are first timers in the area so we were real curious of what we can see in there — and in a while, we can see into an open door a gay bar with beautiful girls ramping on stage dancing.  They were wearing two piece suits.  They are on display.  I personally was so curious.  I find them beautiful! hahaha but the guys outside didn’t try to usher us in so we proceeded up ahead and turn left up into the stairs that leds to a Sexy Show Bar.

A sexy show bar.  Below they would say, welcome to the Ping-pong Show, the Banana Show, the Egg Show, and so on for only a 100 Baht.  Most of us just followed the guys who are ahead and ohhh after being seated — we felt like we were cheated.  We are asked to pay 300 Baht each person and honestly, would never pay 300 for that kind of show because the moment i saw the dancers on top the stage — i then said to myself it was a cheap bar.  They are not worth for any 300 Baht. LOL!

The dancers are not young nor beautiful.  Most of them didn’t have that wow body statistics and if there are few — that few looks old.  There’s a couple of young ladies but they didn’t show.  All they did was just danced with the music.  It was the older ones who did the main show.  One of the ladies sort of felt the uncomfy feeling of Marix that the she tried to tease her the more by throwing at her the banane and took her slipper to be claimed for 20 Baht. Poor marix.

Anyway, after an hour, we went out.  Our curiousity seemed satisfied but we can’t avoid to say, “omg! ano ba yan.”  “what a miserable life they had” == Bebe even thought of going back there to distribute the Steps to Christ or give them Bible studies.

I already had a bad headache before going into that bar and while inside the smell is undescribable that marix said — she seems to get dizzy or drugged.  I jokingly told her that if we are drugged then when we woke up, we would find ourselves the ones ramping on that stage.

While going out, there was a quick commotion that we sort of ran out the place scared.  We were scared of untoward incidents and we would find ourselves in the police station. hehehehe.  The car was parked at Montiene Hotel, so we comfort ourselves in their nice comfort room and then proceeded home.

On our way back home to 41 Pridibanumyong, in Sukhumvit, we passed by the place where beautiful university students are in for a pick-up by anyone who can afford.  C called it as “Merry Christmas” because one time, he showed the place to a friend and when they were approached by beautiful ladies, the friend does not know what to say so he just said, “merry christmas.” They are that beautiful that you become tongue-tied. LOL!

Wheng, kaadto na jud ko ug Bangkok! LOL!

The King Rama IX Park or King’s Park is their National Park and it is a very big place.  The spot that gives attraction to tourist is that museum and the big lake and the wide lawns.  There is also the man-made lake that caters to boating activities for kids.  It is a nature park that many people go there to relax, to meditate, and to exercise.

I’ve been there last Saturday.  Danny’s & Chary decided to spend the Sabbath afternoon there with their kids and of course me with Ludy and would be a best place to meet Stella Jane and her family. While going around, we also distributed Steps to Christ to anyone we met.

Danny, Stella Jane and I – graduated on same year at Mountain View College.  It is nice to see them both romping around the park with their kids — it made me miss my kids so much…wish they were with me.

Anyway, we had an unforgetble time — the pics below reflects some of the fun we had.
