Proud To Be A FILIPINA

2 08 2007

It’s been awhile i haven’t visited PinoyMomsNetwork so i forgot my password.  Am glad I can easily request for a new password so am in again.

In today’s posts  this  (How to Sustain the Filipina Image Online Campain) caught my attention.  I read it all thoroughly and fully understand the mission of the campaign.  Why? Because I am also one of those Filipina that was mistakenly thought of as someone online looking for fun and sex and not a Filipina of Filipino descent.   Maybe that is one of the reasons why I didn’t last long in the chat rooms.  There were few who lasted as friends until this time and they would ask me this and that — I would always say that, you can’t generalize all Flipina because of one rotten Pinay and whatever they say and prove to me that bad Filipinas abound — yet, i always stand in my belief that I am a Filipina and should always be PROUD of it!

proud-pinay.jpgThis the Yan ang Filipina badge donated by Jonas Diego  to the Filipino Women’s Network and I post this here to show my support to the campaign.

And i do wish to show it off too at the right side of the blog but i just don’t know how after many many tries and still it won’t show off.  (sigh)

Learning to Cook

2 08 2007

I feel she is now a bit big to learn cooking the most important food Filpinos eat everyday. The rice. She tried it once but with a lot of asking of “what’s next.” hehehe. And she literally watched the rice until it was cooked. (my mom told me that)

When I arrived home in the evening, she excitedly informed me that she was the one who cooked the rice. Great! So you can be a rice cooker now. Then mom told me everything how she did it. So, I told her that I wanna know in the future if she can successfully cook rice without the help of anyone around or without asking anyone “what’s next.”

Other stuff she has learned to cook:

fried egg
boiled egg
fried longganisa
noodle soup

But all in all — what she loves most is eating. hahahaha!
