Mindanao Mission Academy, The School That Offers Something Better.  It is one of the places on earth i call home.  I graduated from MMA in March 1990 with 2 Loyalty Awards for attending MMA since 1st year highschool and attending Adventist school since 1st Grade.  MMA is located in Manticao, Misamis Oriental, 21 kilometers from my hometown, Iligan.  It is situated along the national highway between the sea and the mountains.

1.  Who was your bestfriend? I  considered Lucille as the one closest to me.  We were classmates since first year.  By the third year, another person joined our duet — but am more open to Lucille.  We continue to communicate regularly when i was off to college and after graduation in college.  Now, we have our own families, but at times, we still take time to meet.  We met 2 times this year.

2.  Did you play any sports? No. I am not the sporty type but I had the time to be active facilitating when I became the Secretary of the Student Association during my Senior Year.

3. What kind of car did you drive? We don’t have a car but it is a tri-sikad that takes us when we go out to town.

4.  It’s Friday night, where were you? At home or at the dormitory.  Twice a month my sis and I are allowed to go home.  So all other remaining week-ends we spent it in the dormitory after the vespers at 8 or 8:30 pm.

5. Were you a party animal? Na. We only had Chrsitmas Party on December and Victory Party at the beach during end of October.

6. Were you considered a flirt? I don’t think so.  Am the shy type.  LOL! I had crushes but only in secret. :D   I heard later (after graduation) that Peter, James, and John likes me whatever..but they never told me. hahaha!

7. Were you in the band, orchestra, or choir? OUr batch formed up a singing group since we were 2nd year highschool.  We call ourselves “Missionary Dreamers.”  It lived for 3 years.  Band? Hmmm not full time.  But i had the chance of substituting an absent “bowler” 2 times. I feel it was great wearing the above the knee uniform seems to show off the legs as we parade around town. hahaha

8. Were you a nerd? Hehehehe. what’s that?

9.  Were you ever suspended or expelled? Never coz my cutting classes didn’t last for many years.  I never had any demerits in my 4 years at the Academy although i’ve skipped classes when I was first year and gone with a group that steal food at the cafeteria.  I had boyfriend but we were not the sneaky type of couple.  We were good pair I think but you never see us going together inside the campus.  The only time we get to stand side by side and even hold hands was during social nights which happens once in two months.

10.  Can you sing the fight song? Do you mean school song? Yeah..of course..until now but some of the lines just hummed.

Between the sea and mountains blue

Where nature smiles from day to day

We find a school that sure to grow,

OUr own dear school, our MMA.

Where flowers bloom and dear friends come

To vanish gloom and makes life gay

We find a school that we call home

We love you so, dear MMA.

We sing thy praises everywhere

And talk about thee, MMA

——-

For thee, our own, dear MMA.

Hmmm forgotten only 1 line. Not bad.

11. Who was your favorite teacher? my English teacher, Ms. NP.  Maybe because she was my boss too at the Registrar’s Office.  I was her student assistant for 3 years.  She made me love the game –PLAY FOR POINTS!

12.  What was your school mascot? None

13.  Did you go to the prom? Yeah, I think two times.  The JS prom during my junior year and senior year but i just can’t remember who was my partner.  Surely it was not a boyfriend or else it will be unforgetable. LOL!

14. If you could go back, would you? Yes. On the time of my sophomore year when my first bf and I parted ways (mutually).  He transferred toanother another school and we just never talked.  The last time we talked real was March 1987 and the last letter was May 1987.  But when June 1987 came — I went bck to school, he never talked to me again.  >>>I want to go back to that time and somehow have the courage to talk with him and asked him what’s happening.  And that if ever we parted, at least we will part as friends.

15. What do you remember most about your graduation? My bf’s parents came during the Tribute to Parents and the Graduation Day.  I cried after the graduation program because my bestfriend’s NCEE score was just enough, and the other girl in our group, failed.  I really didn’t feel like celebrating that I passed the exam because of them.

16. Where were you on Senior Skip Day? We don’t have that as far as I can remember but we had our Senior’s Field Trip to Davao.

17.  Did you have a job on your senior year? Yes.  Assistant to the Registrar but has that since my sophomore year.

18.  Where did you go most often for lunch. Dormitory.

19.  Have you gained weight since then? As in! 3 times maybe. LOL!

20.  What did you do after graduation? Waited for some weeks and then travelled to Mountain View College with my mom to apply for the June enrolment.

21.  What year did you graduate? March 1990.  That was 17 years ago.

22. Who was your senior prom date? I can’t remember anymore.  It was not really a date in our school because partners just met up at the auditorium.  I don’t even remember boys giving flowers to the date. Or maybe if there are some, maybe my date didn’t give me one. hahahaha

23.  Are you going/Did you attend your 10 year reunion? There was none.  But we met twice this year — 1st in January and the 2nd time last April.

Here are some pictures of the Batch 1990 get together:
